The Challenge

The Mechanical department of the Technology Urea Group is responsible for Stamicarbon’s Mechanical Engineering, Inspection Engineering and CAD activities. In order to catch up with the expanding business and further strengthen the department we are recruiting for a:

Materials & Corrosion Engineer

In this role you will be the Materials & Corrosion Specialist and in that role manage the innovation projects and technical support with respect to materials and corrosion aspects of Urea plants worldwide. Are you that enthusiastic and driven person who accelerates the (new) business through his/her specialism? Then please take a look at the following key areas of responsibility and apply:

  • Manage the Research & Development projects on materials and corrosion; i.e. Safurex;
  • Responsible for the coordination of the technical support and services with respect to materials and corrosion to Stamicarbon urea plants and equipment manufacturers worldwide. Deliver Sales Support in technical issues and give presentations in international events.;
  • Coordinate¬† troubleshooting on-site in urea plants worldwide
  • Support and align with inspectors on quality control of High Pressure equipment and corrosion inspections in urea plants worldwide (if needed execute inspections and coordinate the activities);
  • Responsible for the materials & corrosion technologies ¬†(e.g. welding processes); and support and align this with Project teams and High Pressure design engineers
  • Act as key contact to relevant laboratories, institutes, equipment manufacturers and suppliers;
  • Develop, maintain and record the knowledge on materials & corrosion;
  • Give training (internally as well as externally to our customers) and presentations at external symposia within the domain of material & corrosion;

The Candidate

You combine at least a Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical- or Metal Engineering or equal relevant studies with relevant years of working experience. You have knowledge and experience gained within the petro-chemical or oil & gas industry. The ideal candidate must have affiliation managing inspection groups and managing innovation projects

Knowledge and insight of design and manufacturing of HP process equipment is a strong advantage.  You are fluent in English (preferably also German) both spoken and written and like to travel on a frequent basis, enjoying the interaction with customers and partners from different cultural background.
